Red Bell Peppers are mild, and sweet tasting vegetable that belongs to the nightshade family of plants, along with chili pepper, cayenne pepper, eggplant, tomatoes and white potatoes. Botanically they are actually considered a fruit. The most common varieties are red, yellow, and purple, but they are also found in green, dark purple, white, and lavender colors.
